Q: What is a "Customer Category"?
A: Customer categories are used to offer varying discounts to different groups
For example: If you have customers who buy products at wholesale prices, you
could create an account for them and assign it to a specific customer category
offering a special discount on the entire store (discounts are applied automatically
upon log in). With some extra code, you could display the original price crossed
out with the discounted price next to it. This all happens automatically once
the user logs in.
Customer categories can be applied to individual customers as well. If you
have a customer who buys frequently you could put him in a special category
of his own offering a special discount.
Coupons can also be assigned to a specific customer category if you only wish
to offer specific discount for one product to a certain amount of people.
